“Tot rust gekomen” is een collage die ik maakte na jarenlange traumaheling en zoeken naar mijzelf in de donkere plekken van mijn pscyhe.
Dit werk symboliseert het tot rust komen van je zenuwstelsel op een plek die je voor je zelf gecreëerd hebt. Het staat voor loon naar werken, voor diepe voldoening na zware beproeving. Deze collage herinnert aan de menselijke veerkracht en inspireert tot het denken in mogelijkheden.
Voor deze collage heb ik *alle* restanten van eerdere zwart-wit collages en inkttekeningen gebruikt. Alsof het werk niet alleen psychologisch, maar ook praktisch als een einde van een tijdperk fungeert.
Er is iets definitief ten einde gekomen. En dat is goed.

“Peaceful” is a collage I created after years of trauma healing and searching for myself in the dark corners of my mind.
This work symbolizes the calming of your nervous system in a place you’ve created for yourself. It represents reward for hard work, deep satisfaction after a difficult ordeal. This collage commemorates human resilience and inspires to think in terms of possibilities.
For this collage, I used all the remnants of previous black-and-white collages and ink drawings. As if the work not only psychologically functions as the end of an era, but also practically as there are no paper cuttings left in my drawer.
Something has definitively come to an end. And that’s a good thing.
